Marla Greenway wrote stories in her own personal language before she learned to read and write, which amused and confused her family. She studied Communication and Professional Writing at the University of California, Davis, where she honed her skills in journalism, writing across media, poetry, prose, fundraising copy, ethnography, and essaying. Marla continued her education abroad, exploring Social Anthropology with a focus on contemporary art at the University of London, Goldsmiths. She is fond of oceans, beaches, being outdoors, and watching hummingbirds. She is honored to have had the exhilarating experience of holding one of those tiny, spunky birds in her hand. She has braved Rheumatoid Arthritis for fourteen years, and still has all of her fingers and toes.
